We were accepted into His life. It's not just "life", this space we occupy has an Owner. It's "His" life. We are alive in HIS life; He gave HIS life to us. Because Life is HIS, we thank Him for it. We're thankful for our inclusion in Him and for how that excludes us from ever being excluded. We're thankful for His giving specific definition to the nature of our union with Him so that we'd never be confused. He expresses His union with us in the union with Himself He eternally maintains as the man Jesus Christ..
Back in the B.C. days, we all thought it was all just "life". We let men define to us what life was and let grey-haired people dictate what it was all for. We all consented to all kinds of different weights and measures, but it always was our own to make of what we will. Life was in our hands, and it would be something for which we'd ultimately be proud or something by which we'd be ashamed in the end.
That old way of thinking about "life" was inadequate. Life itself being inadequately defined brought inadequate definition to us as living beings. Having a limited definition of life handicapped us in our us in our own minds, diluting our understanding of our source in the truth! But today, in the A.D. we know the Truth about life. We know that there was a calendar date in human history, and that on that day, Life itself died. More importantly, we know that on the 3rd day after that death, Life itself resurrected from death. God had set before Him both Life and Death, and He chose Life. In voting for Death, He made Death obsolete.
Think about it, if God doesn't back death.. He's against it. If He's against death, Death has met it's end! In one man representing the dead condition of all humanity, God chose to restore man to life from that dead condition. Out of death, He restored the human race. For us to return to death would make as much as sense as returning to your mother's womb.
In Him Life did die, but then because Life is true, In Him Life resurrected. Truth itself is Life's Source. Anything contrary to life is contrary to the truth! God overcame every temporal contradiction to His endorsement of life in us. His endorsing Life in the body of a dead man and restoring that man to life means that His relationship with the human body is not quickly broken. He does not consider death to be a dead body representing the accumulated guilt of the offenses of all mankind, makes life "His". Life is His life because He backs it, endorses it, sponsors it, supports it, sustains it, and is all about it. No one is more all about Life than He is! Therefore, we are all living HIS Life! HIS life survived our death. HIS life is sustained by the Truth. His Truth is what sustains our lives [and every good thing in it]. His Truth was the source of our lives, and because our lives continued to be True even when it appeared to be , He believes in our Lives and we exist in Him who is everlasting.
The truth itself remains undiluted, out of reach of human opinion, etched in and even then, "life" hadn't been adequately His response to an eternity of sharing His most intimate place with us or we wouldn't have been allowed to be here from the start.
This is a place to shower in the perfection of the glorious accomplishment of God that we ourselves are. Unearned, unwarranted, unmerited by our own contributions, only 100% pure GIFT language. God's Goodness is a Gift. He isn't only "Good" to "the Good" but He is equally "Good" to all!
